Hello, my names Justin Teddy Cliffe. I make theatre; in all kinds of different ways, with all kinds of different people.

Whether I’m creating work as a solo-artist or leading processes as a director exploration, invention and collaborative action fuel the engine of my working life.

My solo work is informed by my lived experience of the world, and specifically (sometimes) by my mental health and nuerodivers(ness). I regularly work across disciplines, collaborating with science, nature, wellbeing and health professionals/organisations​

 

As a theatre-maker and performer I have created and toured my own work as well as having developed and performed work in the UK and internationally, with companies like; National Theatre Wales, Bristol Old Vic, Battersea Arts Centre, Birmingham REP and Common Wealth. My digital performance work has been supported by BBC Arts and BBC Cymru Wales and I have been nominated for numerous awards including the Evening Standard Future Theatre Makers award, for my work as a Director.

 

I’m fixed on making work that is temporary, alive and always in conversation with it's audience. Using humour and pop-philosophy to lean into the unknown, I create absurdist, comedic and raucous work that I hope has the ability to change some small thing we think about the world.
